We are a family-owned and run carpet store dedicated to providing homes and businesses with high quality carpets and flooring at very competitive prices.

The Convenient Carpets showroom is just off Whitchurch Road, next to Wickes. So we’re easy to find and there’s plenty of parking right opposite.
The Convenient Carpets team also provides a choose-at-home service, where we come to you! We will bring a wide range of samples and, if you like what you see, we will measure up for you and make the whole process easy and, well, convenient for you! There’s no obligation on our home visits but customers have said they find our prices and service hard to resist!

So many UK carpet stores are part of a big chain, but not Convenient Carpets! We are proud to be an independent, local, family-owned and run business.
Our family are Jonathan and Debbie. We do the buying, selling, measuring and fitting, ably assisted by Scott and Andy. Convenient Carpets launched in April 2008 to provide Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas with a customer service-orientated business model; no sales people focusing on commission, but impartial, expert advice based on individuals’ needs.
You may have spotted our two vans out and about, one for doing the estimating and measuring, which will usually have Jonathan at the wheel. Our other van is for the fitting, carpet fitters with over 40 years’ experience. So it’s a close team you’ll be dealing with – from initial enquiry and measuring through to removal of your old carpets (if you wish) and fitting. And, in our experience, the fewer the links in the chain, the more likely that everything will be plain sailing.
Carpets
If you pop into our Shrewsbury showroom, you can see first-hand what a wide range of carpets we offer! But again, if this is not possible, we will come to you with our samples. Whatever is easiest.
As well as how you want your new carpet to complement the rest of the room/s, we should discuss its wearability. Do you have children? Cats or dogs? Hardwearing, stain-resistant, level of underlay… all very important factors to consider, as we don’t just want your carpet looking good – we want it looking good for years and years.
Carpet Fitting
It will be Convenient Carpets you deal with every step of the way of course. It will be Jonathan who comes to chat to you and do the measuring. Then the team who do the actual fitting. If you’d also like your furniture moved and the old carpet taken up and disposed of, Convenient Carpets can do that too.
Our fitting service is second-to-none. We will agree with you the most convenient time, then will get to work promptly and efficiently, with as little disruption to your day as possible. From perfectly square rooms to negotiating winding open tread stairs… our Shrewsbury carpet fitters are experts!

We are often asked...
At an additional cost, we can assist with moving larger pieces of furniture, as long as two men can lift the item without risk of injury. We would require that any cabinets, side boards, bookshelves etc. are emptied, particularly breakables and any electrical appliances are disconnected. Although every care will be taken when moving items, we will not accept any liability whatsoever, for any damage caused by doing so.
At an additional cost, we will uplift and dispose of your existing flooring. However, we reserve the right to withdraw this service on Health and Safety grounds e.g. we cannot remove any flooring that is soiled or in an extremely unclean state. Sometimes flooring repairs which are required only became apparent once the existing flooring has been uplifted, and this will delay fitting your new flooring, for which we accept no liability whatsoever.
We offer a free estimating service for domestic customers. Please note estimates for businesses, organisations, or insurance quotes there is a charge. Please give the shop call to discuss your requirements and we will arrange a visit.
Yes, we have a team of our own experienced fitters. However, in busier times, we may use reputable contractors. If this is the case, we always take full responsibility for their work.
At an additional charge, we can help move appliances. However, cookers, washing machines and dishwashers must be disconnected and reconnected by a qualified tradesman. We do not move American style fridge freezers. Although every care will be taken when moving items, we will not accept any liability whatsoever, for any damage caused by doing so.
Unfortunately not. We only fit flooring we have supplied.
